Sprouts – the common name for marine and freshwater bottom-dwelling species crustaceans from several families in in a row dipods. They have a distinctive, laterally flattened, arched body up to 2 cm long, which can be divided into a head, thorax, and abdomen. On the thorax are legs, which allow the animal to move through the water by swimming or crawling among plants and rocks. Loaches live on the bottom of bodies of water and are often found in large numbers.
