Buford

by Kuba Chruszczewski

A fly developed by fly fishermen fishing for North American pike "muskie". Visually large and voluminous, it is created using a small amount of material, making it easy to cast. Lightweight construction, articulated design and specific shape of the front part provide this lure with an extremely lively, attractive work.
The fly works great in European waters when fishing for our predators. To vices therefore.

1.I place a shank of light wire in the vise. I tie a strong thread.

2.I tie a bunch of hair from the tail of an American deer.

3.I tie a pair of long rooster saddle feathers so that they form a "V" shape.

4.I tie a bunch of flash.

5.I apply a little dubbing to the shank.

6.I tie a bunch of deer hair with the ends to the left.

7.I comb my hair to the right and again add some flash.

8.I attach the tail segment made in this way to the hook using a loop of fishing line. For distance on the fishing line I thread a few light beads.

9.I put another bunch of deer hair on the hook shank....

10... I fill about 3/4 of the length of the shaft this way.

11.I attach a pair of saddle feathers, as in the tail section, and a pair in a different color, here grizzly.

12.Now I begin to build a large, voluminous head of deer hair.

13.I tie another bunch of hair and press to the left similarly to the muddler fly.

14.After the hair is properly trimmed, the fly should get a large, flat forehead.

 15 Ready Buford.
