lamprey

In streams periodically visited by lampreys behind a long, slender fly with a serpentine, pulsating action, many a brook fisher is sure to look around. Of course, we can also expect a bite from any predator present in the fishery. This type of long fly will also work well as an imitation of a toboggan, which is a frequent food of sea trout. So let's make such a "slinky", by the way armed in a clever way:

I thread the hook onto a loop of soft braided line.

I put a zonker through the loop.

I tighten the braided line. This way of mounting the hook makes it possible to replace the armament in the finished lure.

I put the ends of the braided line in front of the front ear of the shank, tie it firmly with leading thread, apply a few coils of lead lamette, and seal everything.

I tie the zonker - note: it is necessary to leave a slight slack on the braided loop, as the zonker will elongate a bit after soaking.

Along the length of the shank I apply another bunch of synthetic bristles with a small addition of something shiny.

I install a plastic helmet-type head with 3D mesh.

The weight in the front is important, it counterbalances the hook, metal chain eyes can be used.
