Merdogon

by Kuba Chruszczewski

In fact, it's all in the name - this fly has a tail and provocatively flaunts it. And it does this thanks to the specific design of the tail and the articulated design. Here is the making of Merdogon step by step:

1 Prepare a strip of zonker. Leave a section (about 5 mm) of the skin stripped of bristles.

2.On the zonker I thread two (when you want to make a bow tie really long, you can and three) sequins.(Plastic, metal ones would be too heavy). One at about 3/4 of the length of the strip, the other at the front. I use a needle to comb out the hair pressed through the sequins. I stabilize their position with glue, carefully, only on the skin side, so as not to glue the fur and stiffen the zonker.

3. to the bare section of the crust I firmly tie a loop of fishing line ( 0.40), cut off the excess crust, tie well.

4 I connect the tail made in this way articulately to the hook using the same loop attached to the shank. I used a heavy carp hook to concentrate the weight of the bait in its front part. You can, of course, add a cone head, a metal ball, or heavy eyes.

5., 6. I make the head of the fly using the "composite loop", a patent described in WW VIII 2019.

7 Ready Merdogon.
